JPG to SVG

Logos and line art from a JPG, traced into crisp, scalable paths.

warming up the tool…

How it works

  1. 01Drop in a JPG. Logos, icons, drawings and signatures trace best.
  2. 02Pick a preset and compare the trace side by side. "Remove background" is already on; turn it off to keep the background color.
  3. 03Download the SVG or copy its code.

Questions

›Why convert a JPG to SVG?

A JPG is a grid of pixels, so a logo turns blurry or blocky when you enlarge it. An SVG describes shapes instead, so it stays sharp at any size, from a favicon to a banner, and cutting machines, laser engravers and print shops can use it.

›Why is "Remove background" on?

JPGs can't be transparent, so a logo saved as a JPG nearly always sits on a white or colored box. Remove background clears the color touching the edges of the image, while the same color inside the design stays. Turn it off if the background is part of the design.

›Why are there specks around the edges?

JPG compression leaves faint blotches around sharp edges, and the tracer can turn them into tiny shapes. Raise blur by a step, use fewer colors or lower the detail to clean them up. A PNG of the same logo, if you have one, traces cleaner.

›Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed on your own device by your browser. They never touch our servers, so there are no upload waits, no size caps from us, and nothing to delete afterwards.
