Compress image to 1 MB
Under a megabyte, still sharp enough to print.
How it works
- 01Drop in one photo or a whole batch. The limit is already set to 1 MB; type your own number if the form asks for another.
- 02Each file gets the highest JPG quality that fits, and is made smaller in pixels only if quality alone isn't enough.
- 03Check the result line under each file ("✓ fits", or why not), then download one by one or as a zip.
Questions
›Is 1 MB 1,000 KB or 1,024 KB?
We aim under 1,000,000 bytes, so the file passes either definition.
›Can I still print it?
Usually, yes. Many phone photos reach 1 MB by lowering the JPG quality while keeping every pixel, and even when they are scaled down a little they keep enough pixels for a sharp 6×4 inch print.
›Which KB does it use, 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
It aims under 1 KB = 1,000 bytes, the stricter of the two, so the file also passes forms that count 1,024. The result line shows the size the same way.
›Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed on your own device by your browser. They never touch our servers, so there are no upload waits, no size caps from us, and nothing to delete afterwards.
