JPG to AVIF
Squeeze your JPGs into AVIF for the lightest web images.
How it works
- 01Drop in your JPGs.
- 02AVIF is already selected. Set the quality and, for websites, a maximum size like 1920.
- 03Download the AVIF files one by one, or all at once as a zip.
Questions
›What quality should I use?
AVIF's scale isn't the same as JPG's: around 60–70 usually holds up well, and the default is 65. Check with the before/after slider and adjust.
›Why is AVIF slower to convert?
AVIF squeezes harder than JPG or WebP, which takes more computing work. Big batches take a while, and run in the background a few at a time.
›Is AVIF supported everywhere?
All current major browsers display AVIF, so it's safe for websites, ideally with a JPG fallback for old browsers. Many desktop apps, email clients and social sites don't accept it yet.
›Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed on your own device by your browser. They never touch our servers, so there are no upload waits, no size caps from us, and nothing to delete afterwards.
