›Is transparency kept?
Yes. AVIF supports full transparency, so logos and cut-outs keep their see-through areas.
›How much smaller will it be?
It depends on the image. Photos saved as PNG shrink dramatically; flat graphics with few colors shrink less, and now and then a small PNG is already smaller. The file list shows the size change before you download.
›Can I use AVIF on my website?
Yes. All current major browsers display it. For old browsers, add a PNG or WebP fallback with the picture element.
›Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed on your own device by your browser. They never touch our servers, so there are no upload waits, no size caps from us, and nothing to delete afterwards.
