Questions
›Lossless or lossy?
Lossless keeps every pixel exactly, like PNG, and is usually still smaller than the PNG. Lossy is much smaller again and works well for photos and illustrations, but can soften fine text.
›Is transparency kept?
Yes, in both modes.
›Where can I use WebP?
On any website, since all current major browsers support it, and in most modern apps. A few older programs and print services still want PNG or JPG.
›Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed on your own device by your browser. They never touch our servers, so there are no upload waits, no size caps from us, and nothing to delete afterwards.
